The Ukrainian community of the state of Victoria warmly welcomed the star Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina, who arrived at the Australian Open The report highlights the multifaceted dialogue between the Ukrainian public and our famous athlete.


Elina Svitolina was born in Odesa on September 12, 1994. Her parents are also athletes: Olena Svitolina used to row, and Mykhailo Svitolin was fond of wrestling.
Elina came to tennis after her brother Julian, who is 9 years older than her. At the age of four, little Elina picked up a professional racket for the first time. When the girl turned 12, Kharkiv businessman Yuriy Sapronov noticed her at one of the tournaments. He began to invest money in the development of the athlete. In 2007, the Svitolina family moved to Kharkiv.
Now Elina lives abroad and trains there, but Kharkiv is officially considered her residence, where she comes several times a year. With the same frequency, she also visits Odessa, where her mother and beloved grandmother live.
