'India in Victoria': Celebration of Victoria's ever growing Indian community

In collaboration with the Federation of Indian Associations of Victoria (FIAV), the Consulate General of India in Melbourne organised a cultural event to showcase the rich Indian heritage and diversity of Indian diaspora in Victoria through dance, art and music.


The event, held on 17 February, was organised with strong participation of the Indian diaspora.

The event was attended by many members of the Indian community, officials from the Indian consulate and also many Australian politicians.
Those in attendance included the Consul General of India in Melbourne- Dr Sushil Kumar, Federation of Indian Associations of Victoria President - Surry Soni, members of parliament, Matt Fregon(Member for Ashwood), Steve McGhie (Member for Melton), Mathew Hilakari (Member for Melton), Leader of Opposition in Victoria John Pesutto, Victorian Multicultural Commissioner Vivian Nguyen and many other dignitaries.
