”Ditch the resolution, set clear intentions. Intentions are more practical and doable.”
Ms. Tan advocates for a departure from the conventional New Year's resolutions and encourages the adoption of clear, practical, and achievable intentions. According to her, this shift ensures a steadfast commitment to health goals. She advises, "ditch the resolution, set clear intentions. Intentions are more practical and doable."

Addressing food and nutrition, Ms. Tan recommends a balanced and mindful approach, citing the 80/20 rule. Making healthy food choices 80% of the time allows for flexibility and indulgence in treats during the remaining 20%. This strategy promotes a sustainable and realistic perspective on eating, balancing health-conscious choices with the enjoyment of favourite foods.

Beyond dietary considerations, Ms. Tan highlights the significance of non-food sources of energy, including relationships, connections, inspiration, and self-care. These elements collectively contribute to overall health and wellness.

"It’s never too early or never too late to start looking after yourself. You owe it to yourself. Of course, we do it for our kids, our partners, and family, but most importantly, we do it for ourselves," she shares.

A holistic approach encourages individuals to prioritise their well-being as an integral aspect of a fulfilling and balanced life.
