Openly gay actor and model Ronnie Kroell, who you may recognise from his appearance on RuPaul's Drag Race as a member of the topless pit crew, has pivoted into politics - announcing his independent candidacy for President of the United States.

Running on a platform of "love, logic and empathy", Kroell announced his 2020 campaign at a party held at Pump, a popular gay bar in West Hollywood. He later took to social media to share the reasons behind his run.

Speaking to at the event, Kroell explained: “My wanting to be president is rooted in a passion for the people, a desire to remind ourselves that the power belongs to US, and a deep inner calling that I cannot ignore that wants me to find a way to help heal our Nation’s wounds.”

He continued: “I would argue that the most important challenge we must face is bringing love and logic back to our conversations. It’s time to listen to one another, not to respond, but to understand."
As well as appearing, albeit briefly, on season 5 of Drag Race, Kroell's IMDB has also been buffed out by his roles in Eating Out 4: Drama Camp and Bravo’s Make Me a Supermodel.
