Actress and host of SBS Viceland’s Gaycation, Ellen Page was one of many celebrities who attended the Anti-Trump Women’s March in Washington DC this weekend.
During the protest, she came in contact with a Christian conservative whose shirt stated that LGBT+ people are “worse than animals”.
Her conversation with the preacher was caught on camera by TMZ.
“Homosexuality, that’s a demonic, toxic feeling. That’s what you become, that’s not who you are. Who you are is when you come out your mother’s womb,” the man tells her.
“If you could open your heart and be less ignorant to LGBT people, I think you’ll have a much more beautiful life,” she responds calmly.
After incessant interruptions by the man who claims Page's views are just her “beliefs”, Page ends the conversation with exasperation.
"We’re not gonna get anywhere,” she says. “You’ll believe this your whole life. I feel for you.”
Following President Donald Trump’s inauguration, protest marches have been held across the world. These marches stand to highlight President Trump and his cabinet’s sexist, predatory, racist, and homophobic comments made over the course of his presidential campaign.

Over have been held across the globe, with millions attending in solidarity. An estimated people attended the march in Washington DC, which is three times more than the number of people who attended President Trump’s inauguration the day before.
Women’s Marches took place in Australia and New Zealand, too, with an estimated people marching in Sydney alone.
