Richmond premiership forward Jack Riewoldt is confident of taking on St Kilda this Saturday, only six days after coughing up blood.
The dual Coleman medallist had a heavy collision with West Coast's Liam Duggan in the third quarter of the Tigers' 47-point AFL defeat last Sunday.
Remarkably, Riewoldt played out the match at Optus Stadium to be one of Richmond's best players with five goals.
Despite there being concerns about the 29-year-old being able to fly back with the team from Perth, Riewoldt says there have been no dramatic after-effects from the incident.
The two-time All-Australian told Fox Footy he wants to take on the Saints at the MCG.
"It just flushed me in a bit of a bad spot," Riewoldt told AFL 360 of the clash with Duggan.
"I had a mouthful of blood, spat it out and then went to the bench.
"The next half an hour I was spitting up a little bit of bloody every now and again. I was never in pain."
Riewoldt said there was a discussion between club doctor Greg Hickey and flight staff about his well-being, but he was cleared to fly immediately.
"I was thinking in my seat, 'please I just want to get home'," Riewoldt said.
The Tigers conceded their spot on top of the ladder to West Coast with the loss.
