US retail giant Target has begun started removing a Jewish-themed version of the popular game Cards Against Humanity from its shelves after complaints over its offensive content.
"We are aware of this extended card pack of the game Cards Against Humanity and are in the process of removing it from our stores," the company on Twitter said.
In the game, participants ask each other incomplete questions, reading from cards.
They fill in the blanks with responses that they read from other cards - the answers are deliberately politically incorrect and offensive and are meant to be funny.
There are multiple versions of the game, but it is the Jewish-themed version that has caused complaints.
The version includes lines like "Can't you see, the Jews are behind everything - the banks, the media, even _____!", according to posts from angry shoppers shown on Twitter.
One of the answers from the version reads: "Torturing Jews until they say they aren't Jews any more," according to Twitter posts.
The retailer apologised saying "it is never our intention to offend our guests with the products we carry".
Target did not say how many of the games had been sold or stocked in its stores.
Cards against Humanity describes itself as a "party game for horrible people," on its website.
