The Liberal and Labor parties have both officially launched their campaigns for the NSW election to crowds of red and blue supporters.

The state election is just 13 days away and is expected to soon be followed by a Federal election most likely in May.

Today Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Federal Labor Leader Bill Shorten were both in attendance lending support at their political parties Sunday launches.

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian fronted a sea of blue Liberal National supporters at Penrith, in Sydney’s far west.

The Premier is seeking re-election on her government’s track record in power.

A record she said proves “NSW can have it all.”

“I’m the first to acknowledge that our job is far from done,” Ms Berejiklian said.

She asked voters for the chance to finish her government’s infrastructure transformation.

“Too often in New South Wales we’ve seen our hard work undone by the election of a Labor government,” she said.

The two leaders both made big promises on education, health, infrastructure and public transport to win voters support.

A recent poll before campaign launch showed that Labor leads the coalition 51-49 on a two-party preferred basis with Mr Daley ahead of Ms Berejiklian as preferred premier.

Mr Daley spoke to crowds of red sign waving Labor backers at Reversby in the city’s southwest.

There he declared the government was afraid of Labor's political challenge.

"The Liberals are afraid of us," he said.

"In 13 days time, we will show that there fear is justified when we win the election."

At the Sunday launch, the premier launched a new program which will give every child in NSW access to before-and-after school care by 2021.

Under the program, every primary school will open playgrounds, classrooms and halls so children can be cared for from 7am until 6pm, according to the Sunday Telegraph.

Education was a key part of Mr Daley's speech with the opposition leader pledging $2.7 billion to fully fund public schools and bring them in line with the Gonski commitment.

The extra funds will mean 100 per cent of the standard level of funding for every student is delivered by 2027.

Mr Daley also announced that if elected, Labor will introduce nurse-to-patient ratios in mental health units in the state's hospitals.

While Sunday's events may signal the beginning of an official launch, campaigning has been underway for months as leaders battle it out in a bid to win over voters.

Debate during the campaign has centred around spending on Sydney stadiums with the premier under scrutiny for splashing cash on the demolition and reconstruction of Allianz Stadium.

Ms Berejiklian has argued the government was spending close to $90 billion on other infrastructure in NSW and also insisted education funding wasn't suffering.

Michael Daley has threatened to sack members of the SCG Trust's board that oversees the Moore Park sporting facilities.
