Justin Bieber questioned at LAX: report

Pop star Justin Bieber has reportedly being questioned by customs officials at Los Angeles International Airport.

Justin Bieber has reportedly been stopped by customs officials at Los Angeles International Airport.

The Canadian pop star's Singapore Air flight from Tokyo landed at approximately 1.30pm local time on Thursday.

X17online reports the 20-year-old hit a snag upon his arrival and was questioned by US customs officials.

According to the outlet, Bieber's entourage was waiting outside of the international terminal at LAX while he was "stuck inside", and was still being questioned as of 3.15pm despite all other passengers from the flight having cleared customs.

"I have no idea what's going on in there - we're just waiting. But it's been more than an hour and a half now..." one of the star's bodyguards reportedly told an X17 photographer.

It was unclear at the time why Bieber was apparently being delayed.

It's not the first time he's been questioned at LAX.

In November Bieber's private plane was searched by agents after he returned to the US from South America.

And in April last year, his tour bus was raided by police in Sweden. Authorities found what they called a "small amount" of what appeared to be marijuana in the search, according to the report.

Bieber also has several legal cases pending in the US and his native Canada.

He faces charges of driving under the influence, resisting arrest and driving with an expired licence stemming from an incident in Miami, Florida in January, and is scheduled to face court again on July 7.

He also being sued in Miami amid allegations he ordered his bodyguard to assault a photographer.

Bieber also faces allegations of assault in Toronto, Canada, and last November he was charged with illegally spray-painting graffiti in Rio de Janeiro.
