Texas native Candace Payne, 37, shot to international fame in May after posting a Facebook live video expressing her delight with buying a mask of the famous Star Wars character Chewbacca.

In the video, which recently became the most watched Facebook live-streamed clip of all time with more than 164 million views, Payne laughs hysterically at the mask, while activating the famous Chewbacca roar.
Payne there continues to be reaction to the video.

"Things are wonderful at the moment," she said.

"People come up and ask if they can take a selfie with me.

"Most are pretty kind and many people want to say thanks for my video."

She said the video was recorded for family and friends, and thought it had the potential to become viral after seeing the huge number of views it attracted in the first few hours after she posted it.

"I remember seeing that I got 50,000 views within an hour - and thinking 'I don't know 50,000 people. What's going on?'" she said.
She recalled waking up the next day and noticing that the video had received 24 million views, and remembered feeling like "a door had opened up" in her life.

"Within three days I had 78 million views and climbing. I refreshed my Facebook page and saw the number of views jump by 100,000," she said.

"I wasn't scared, I was grateful. I knew that being a stay-at-home mum was just a season.

"I always had dreams of doing something grand."

She now has more than 800,000 Facebook followers on Facebook and around 50,000 on Instagram.

The video's views eclipsed Buzzfeed's Facebook live in April of an exploding watermelon, which has been viewed more than 11 million times.
