Bank inquiry deserves extra MP work: Labor

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten has asked Scott Morrison to schedule more parliamentary sitting days to deal with the banking royal commission aftermath.

Labor has written to the prime minister seeking an extra two weeks of parliamentary sittings to deal with the response to the banking royal commission.

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten has proposed sittings between March 5-7 and March 12-14.

He has also suggested the government prioritise the ending of grandfathered commissions for financial advice and putting in place a ban on hawking superannuation and insurance.
