Village Connect is an organisation funded by the Queensland government to assist Pasefika and Maori people in the state.

One of its main services is finding foster homes for Pasefika and Maori children who become wards of the state under their So'otaga Aiga Pasefika (SAP) program.

Ms Caroline Epa, one of the (SAP) workers, told us that she would prefer Pasefika and Maori children to be looked after by other members of the community so that their language and the ways of life are maintained until such time as when the Court determines they can be restored back home to their parents.
