Strong on his resolve to create a Victoria for everyone, Naresh Bhalla is set to contest the Victorian state election for the Legislative Assembly from the electorate of Forest Hill in Melbourne.

Highlighting the difference from the major political parties, Mr Bhalla told SBS Punjabi that “unlike Labor and Liberals who are letting corporations run the state, we plan to put the interest of the people first.”

“We will be investing in world-class public transport, work towards powering Victoria from 100% clean renewable energy, protecting Victoria's unique forests, fixing housing crisis and stopping further privatisation,” said Mr Bhalla.

In addition, the proposed coal mine by the Adani group is another issue that needs attention, added Mr Bhalla.

“Adani mine is an additional issue and voters are really concerned about its impact on climate change. Four weeks out from the Victorian election, Labor has announced that they want to fast-track a new coal project in Victoria. This will be a part of my local campaign.”

Taking a strong stand against racism, Mr Bhalla said he will “fight for this cause since such incidents have no place within our community."

Enlisting his party’s election promises, Mr Bhalla informed SBS Punjabi that the Greens have pledged to invest $100 million in community childcare, provide free ambulances to those in need and move children held in Nauru to safety upon election.
