Duas das casas foram queimadas próximo ao parque estadual de Bunyip, 65 km a sudeste de Melbourne, onde nesta manhã de domingo moradores de 15 bairros foram avisados de que já era tarde demais para poder sair das suas casas.
A terceira casa destruída foi em Yinnar South.
A proibição total de atear fogo está em vigor hoje em todo o estado de Vitória.
O Comissário de Controle de Emergências de Vitória, Andrew Crisp, disse que os bombeiros estão fazendo o que podem.
"We've got significant resources that we've brought to bear on those fires, whether it's literally hundreds of firefighters on the ground with trucks and other appliances. But we've also got significant aircraft and helicopters that have been flying on these fires."
A Secretária Estadual para os Serviços de Emergência, Lisa Neville, instou os moradores a seguirem as orientações das autoridades à risca.
"My message to communities is take these seriously. Keep alert to the warnings, keep alert to the changing conditions. This Bunyip fire is taking on a life of its own. So the communities around here need to keep up to date through a number of sources on the most up to date information. Don't take any risk in relation to these fires. They are serious and they are significant."
