Australian Jewish leaders welcomed the UN’s Committee On The Status Of Women ejection of Iran, following the brutal repression of protests demanding justice for Mahsa Amini, the 22 year old Kurdish woman, who died in Iranian moral police custody under suspicious circumstances, after being arrested for not wearing her hajib-headscarf properly.

A Kanye West inspired antisemitic daubing with a swastika, drawn in a Hawthorn park in Melbourne, has been condemned by the Anti-Defamation Commission and the JCCV, who pointed out that displaying such symbols of hate in the State of Victoria will be punishable by a year’s jail and $22k fine, after the 29th December 2022.
