Some people say tensions between Rakhine parliament and Rakhine’s state government could have an effect on state development. Arakan National Party is leading in the state parliament while the NLD leading the government.

In April, government provided 70 billion Kyats for Rakhine state but among them 6 billion was cut because Rakhine parliament did not approve some development projects.

And, it government is including money for projects they parliament has not approved in the coming 2018-2019 budget.  It is likely that the parliament will disapprove it and it could have an effect on the development.
