Interview with Nachiketa

Nachiketa is an Indian Bengali singer-songwriter and composer who is known for his modern Bengali lyrics and natural mode of singing. Nachiketa started composing and performing as a student of a college in North Kolkata. In 1993 his first album Ei besh valo achi was released; it was an instant hit. At the initial stage he had a huge youth fan following, but gradually he has touched listeners from all age groups. The colloquial language immediately hit the stagnancy of Bengali music in the early 90s. Following the path of Kabir Suman,Shilajit,Chandrabindu, Nachiketa changed the age-old concept of Bengali lyrics. Nachiketa Chakraborty is also the co-music director along with Vishal Bhardwaj in the Bollywood movie Omkara.
